United Kingdom Record number of baby seals arrive A total of 3,796 gray baby seal pups have been spotted in Norfolk county on the coast of England, nearly double the number born in 2019–2020. Every year between November and January, gray seals come ashore to breed. The pups spend about three weeks on the beach being fed by their mothers, then return to the ocean to hunt. Experts said the record numbers can be attributed to plentiful fish and are a sign of a healthy colony.
