Scientists find possibility of life on Mercury

Researchers have discovered underground glaciers on Mercury that are made of salt and may have the right conditions to support life. Mercury is the closest planet in our solar system to the Sun. It has no atmosphere, and its surface can hit temperatures up to 800° F. With conditions like that, it would seem impossible for anything to survive on the planet. But a team of researchers from a nonprofit organization called the Planetary Science Institute believe these salt formations could make it possible. They said the salt contains water and the gases nitrogen and carbon dioxide, which are necessary for any life-form to survive.
