Host city for World Cup final chosen

FIFA (the global governing body for soccer) has announced that the final match of the 2026 World Cup, a tournament played between teams from different countries, will be held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The World Cup final is considered the biggest event in sports. About 1.5 billion people watched it on TV in 2022. During the 2026 World Cup, 104 matches will be played from June 11 to July 19. The matches will take place in 16 different cities throughout Canada, Mexico, and the US, with teams from 48 countries participating.
