Supreme Court hears Trump case

A historic case came before the US Supreme Court, America’s most powerful court of law, on February 8. The nine members of the court, called justices, heard arguments about whether former President Donald Trump can be disqualified from appearing on ballots in the 2024 Presidential election, to be held on November 5. Trump is currently running for a second term in office and is expected to be the Republican nominee for President. What was the case about? In September 2023, voters in Colorado filed a lawsuit to prevent Trump from appearing on the ballot in that state.
