Show explores the Americas

A new documentary series highlights the region’s amazing animals and natural wonders.

The combined landmasses of North America and South America make up the most biodiverse continent on Earth, and a new 10-episode documentary series, The Americas, presents the region as it has never been seen before. The show is narrated by actor Tom Hanks (Woody in Toy Story) and will premiere on NBC at 7 p.m. ET on February 23. Episodes will also stream on Peacock. To make The Americas, film crews went on 180 expeditions to areas that included the Arctic, the Atlantic Coast, the Gulf Coast, the American West, Mexico, the Caribbean, the Amazon rainforest, and Patagonia. Mike Gunton, the executive producer of the series, told The Week Junior that the show was made “to feel like an incredible safari to the greatest places in this supercontinent.” He said…
