Zion National Park, Utah

Zion is known for its striking red rock, sandstone cliffs, and natural rock arch formations. It was a flat basin about 240 million years ago that was shaped by wind and water to create the landscape there today. Zion has a deep canyon where people hike. A popular route is the Narrows, where visitors walk for miles in the Virgin River. More than 291 species of birds, 78 species of mammals, and 37 species of reptiles and amphibians live in Zion.
