During a recent cold snap, people came across a shocking sight at Texas and North Carolina parks. Alligators lay motionless in frozen ponds, suspended in ice, like solid “gatorcicles.” Surprisingly, the reptiles were not dead: Their snouts were sticking up through the ice so they could breathe. “Think of it as a cute little danger snorkel,” an employee at the Swamp Park in North Carolina said in a video before “booping” a frozen snout with his finger.
