Big debut for volleyball league

The first season of the new Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF), an indoor women’s volleyball league, is underway. The PVF has seven teams based in cities across the country. One of the league’s goals is to give top players a way to compete in the US instead of having to join teams abroad. Many of its athletes were college players, and some come from other countries. Several players in the league are members of the US National Team. In a pre-season poll, the PVF’s head coaches predicted the Omaha Supernovas would be the top team during the regular season, while the Atlanta Vibe placed a close second.
