Actress Kyla Pratt continues to lead her popular animated series.

Since Disney’s hit animated series The Proud Family first aired in 2001, actress Kyla Pratt has voiced its main character, a spirited14-year-old girl named Penny Proud. The show ended in 2005, but Pratt is back as Penny in a continuation of the series, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. Season two recently became available for streaming on Disney+. The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder follows Penny, now age 16, as she navigates life at home and school in the suburbs of California. The Proud Family was groundbreaking when it premiered in the 2000s, as it was one of the first animated shows on TV to center on a Black family, particularly with a Black girl as the lead.
