Eva, 9, Oregon Eli Strull Curator of education and guest experience, WNC Nature Center Skunks have a keen sense of smell, which they use to find food, but I am not sure if they are sensitive to the smell of their own spray. The spray works by temporarily blinding another animal so the skunk can get away. (It’s kind of like an invisibility cloak—I want that superpower!) Do you have a question for an animal expert?
