Teen wins top prize

Ryan Wang, age 17, has been named the 2024 BBC Young Musician of the Year. The honor is awarded every two years to a musician under age 18 who lives or studies in the UK. Wang, who is from Vancouver, Canada, is currently attending school in England on a music scholarship. He began playing the piano at age 4 and gave his first solo recital at age 5 at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall in New York City.
