NASA, the US space agency, has launched its fourth annual Power to Explore Student Challenge. Students in grades K–12 are invited to write an essay about their idea for a nuclearpowered mission to a moon in the solar system. Essays should include details on where they would go, what they would explore, and how they would use radioisotope power systems, a type of nuclear battery.
