November and December are packed with major holidays. It’s a festive season and, these days, a hectic one. In the past, it was common for holidays to be celebrated one at a time. Thanksgiving meant relaxation with family and friends, and people waited until early December to start putting up Christmas lights and Hanukkah decorations. These days, though, people start shopping, decorating—and busting out the Christmas sweaters—the day after Thanksgiving. Some say holiday prep and festivities have gotten out of control.
