Nova Scotia, Canada Tides harnessed for clean energy Renewable energy (energy created by nature that does not run out, such as solar, wind, and water) is being made using the tides in the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia. The bay is known for having some of the highest tides in the world. The power is generated with floating turbines, which are mechanical devices that use energy from the tides and turn it into electricity. The new system is providing energy for about 250 homes.
