Artemis 1 launches into space

On November 16, NASA, the US space agency, launched its Artemis 1 mission, the first step in its larger Artemis program designed to put people on the Moon for the first time in 50 years. The uncrewed Space Launch System (SLS), the most powerful rocket ever built, took off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It marks NASA’s first lunar mission since the Apollo program of the 1960s and 1970s, during which 12 men walked on the Moon. What is Artemis?
