NBA plays in-season tournament

For the first time ever, the NBA (National Basketball Association) is holding an in-season tournament for its 30 teams. The tournament, which is similar to one in the WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association), was created to make the early part of the season exciting for players and fans. Players can earn cash awards based on how far their teams go. In the tournament, which began on November 3, the Eastern and Western Conferences are split into six groups of five teams. Games are played on Tuesday and Fridays, and all but the Final count toward a team’s regular season record. When The Week Junior went to press, there had been four nights of action and seven teams remained undefeated, including the Miami Heat, the Milwaukee Bucks, and the Sacramento Kings.…
