A chicken coop to translate bird talk

Chickens cluck, chirp, and chat, and now their owners can find out what they’re saying with a smart chicken coop. The Coop has an artificial intelligence program called Albert Eggstein, with sound-detection software that tracks the pattern, pitch, and volume of the birds’ chatter. The Coop’s designers said that over time, the program learns to determine whether the chickens are happy, hungry, in danger, or feeling broody (wanting to sit on their eggs) based on their “cluck talk.” The program sends updates to owners through an app.…
