Small scale, big impact

Frank Gehry’s innovative style goes beyond buildings. He has also created objects on a smaller scale that feature daring designs.

Fish lamps Gehry (left) once famously called fish “a perfect form.” Between 1984 and 1986, he designed a series of illuminated sculptures called Fish Lamps. The works are made of a translucent material so the light glows from within and are designed to appear as if the fish are swimming. Jewelry for Tiffany & Co. In the mid-2000s, Gehry designed six collections for the famous jewelry retailer Tiffany. They included asymmetrical rings, pendants, and earrings using materials such as precious metals, stones, and wood. He also created small household objects, including vases.
