Saving stuffed toys

Five years ago, Charlotte Liebling, age 28, of Bedfordshire, England, began collecting used stuffed animals and cleaning them so they could be enjoyed by others. Liebling got the idea after volunteering at a thrift shop and noticing that most stuffed toys in good condition were thrown away. Her nonprofit Loved Before has now refurbished more than 60,000 plushies. After being spruced up, they are sold online for $10 to $15, with 50% of the profits going to charity.
