Acclaimed author David Sedaris has written his first book for children.

David Sedaris has made a successful career out of humor writing, often sharing funny yet poignant stories about his life and family. Now the award-winning author of 12 books for adults has published his first children’s picture book, Pretty Ugly, which tells the story of a young ogre named Anna Van Ogre, whose beautiful monster face gets replaced by a human’s face. Sedaris, age 67, was born in Johnston City, New York, but grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, as the second-oldest of six siblings. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a visual artist.
