Take part in the Big River Watch

A recent report by The Rivers Trust (a charity that looks after the UK and Ireland’s rivers) found that many rivers were not in good health. However, you can help. On 6 September, The Rivers Trust launched its latest Big River Watch across the UK and Ireland. This citizen-science project (when the public helps with scientific research) will run until 12 September. The aim is for people to gather much-needed information on the condition of rivers. The more people who contribute the better, because it will give scientists a more reliable picture of the condition of rivers. To get involved, ask an adult to download the free Big River Watch app onto a smartphone and then head out together. You can go anywhere – your local river or somewhere new.…
