City honours its peacocks

Peacocks in Dunfermline, Scotland, have been given the “Freedom of the City” (a special honour). The birds have been in the city for more than100 years after they were brought from India, but the 21 who live there now are the first to receive this honour. The peafowl (the term for male and female birds) stay at Pittencrieff Park, where they are looked after by volunteers. Warden Suzi Ross said, “These birds are loved by so many people from Dunfermline.”…
