National Trust visitors rise

The National Trust, a charity that looks after historic buildings and areas of countryside, says more people, especially families, are visiting its houses and gardens. The number rose by 5% last year to 25.3 million. However 89,000 fewer people chose to take out a yearly membership. The charity, which has more than five million members, also says it spent £5.5 million improving access so that more people with disabilities can visit its sites.…
