Dr Alex was always a bit of a worrier. “I used to worry about everything,” he told The Week Junior. “It’s very daunting and it can be a very isolating feeling.” Last year, Dr Alex became the UK’s first Youth Mental Health Ambassador. Now he has written a new book looking back on his own life experiences. He describes A Better Day as a mental health toolkit to help young people understand and express their feelings. “I basically wrote this as the book I wish I had when I was 10 years old,” he says. Dr Alex shares his strategies on how to handle difficult situations, stresses and pressures that young people might face at home, in school and on social media.
