Politician turns football hero

The vice president of the South American country Suriname picked himself to play for the football club Inter Moengotapoe in one of the continent’s biggest competitions. Ronnie Brunswijk, who owns the club, played as striker and scored three goals. Brunswijk became a national hero as the team won the game and went on to the next round of the tournament.
