World’s oldest identical twins

Aged 107 years and 300 days, Japanese twin sisters Umeno Sumiyama and Koume Kodama were awarded the Guinness World Record for world’s oldest identical twins on 1 September. They are also the oldest identical twins to have ever lived. The sisters were born on Shodoshima Island in Kawaga prefecture on 5 November 1913, a few months before the start of the First World War. Japan is also home to the oldest living person, 118-year-old Kane Tanaka.…
