WILD BEAVER FAMILIES
For the first time in 400 years, beavers have successfully established themselves in the wild in south-west England without the help of humans. Three generations of the same beaver family were spotted living near the River Avon in the Bristol and Bath area.
LONDON MARATHON RUNNERS
On 3 October, the London Marathon returned after 889 days. More than 40,000 people took part in the 26.2-mile run through the capital and around 40,000 got involved virtually. Several world records were broken, including the fastest time for a six-person costume, who were dressed as a Colin the Caterpillar cake.
