This year’s World Migratory Bird Day takes place on 9 October. It’s a day to think about birds that are migrating (making long-distance flights) as the seasons change. As the UK gets colder, many summer birds will set off south for warmer climates. How ever, at the same time some birds, such as bram blings, ducks, geese, red wings and whooper swans, will be arriving from the north to spend the winter here.
