The biggest leak of financial documents in history has revealed the secret dealings of some of the world’s richest and most powerful people. A leak is when confidential (private and secret) information is revealed to unauthorised people outside an organisation. This leak came from 14 companies used by the exposed billionaires, celebrities and politicians.
What’s in the documents?
There are almost 12 million leaked documents, which are being called the Pandora Papers. They show rich and powerful people avoid paying tax when they buy luxury items from artworks to yachts. Tax is the money that people pay to their government for public services such as schools and hospitals.
