Keir Starmer changes top team

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has changed his top team in Government after it was announced that his chief of staff, Sue Gray, was stepping down. What happened? On 6 September, No. 10 Downing Street (the Prime Minister’s office) confirmed that Gray had left her role as the Prime Minister’s most senior adviser. She will be replaced by Morgan McSweeney, who was in charge of the Labour Party’s general election campaign earlier this year. Gray will still work for Starmer in a different role, representing the UK’s nations and regions. Why did Sue Gray step down?
