Night parrots Around 50 night parrots have been found by indigenous researchers (indigenous people are the original inhabitants of a place) in western Australia. It’s now thought that the Ngururrpa Indigenous Protected Area could be home to the world’s largest population of night parrots. Vanishing fireflies The US government is set to list the Bethany Beach firefly as endangered, in order to protect it. The insect is facing extinction because of threats such as climate change, habitat loss and light pollution. It would be the first of 170 firefly species in the US to be protected this way.…
