A legend leaves the court

On 23 September, Roger Federer played his last professional tennis match. He is one of the greatest male players of all time, winning more than 100 titles in a career that began in 1998. Federer, from Switzerland, has struggled with a knee injury in recent years and had to make the decision to stop competing. “It’s been a wonderful day. I’m happy, not sad. It feels great to be here,” the 41-year-old said after his last professional appearance. Federer’s final match was at the Laver Cup, at the 02 venue in London.
