From classroom to World Cup

Teacher Lotte Clapp inspires girls to play rugby.

Now that the new school year has started again, most teachers and pupils have returned to their classrooms. However, one teacher from Heath Mount School, in Hertfordshire, England, is leaving – for Los Angeles, US. Charlotte “Lotte” Clapp, a Year 3 teacher is off to star for the US rugby team at the Women’s Rugby World Cup next month. The teacher will play for the USA Eagles against Italy, Japan and Canada, and the first match takes place on 9 October. Clapp only began playing rugby aged about 11.
