Ancient city hidden beneath jungle

A team of researchers has found ago. Descendants of Maya people still evidence of an ancient lost city in Mexico, hidden in a dense jungle. They have named the city Valeriana. The discovery was made while looking through data that was collected in 2013 using a technique called Lidar, which is short for “light detection and ranging”. This is when a plane fires thousands of laser (intense light beam) pulses at the ground below. By measuring Dam the time it takes for the laser to return, a computer can calculate exactly how far away the objects are and then create a 3D map of the area.
