No Mow May

No Mow May encourages people not to mow their lawns for the whole month of May. It was started in the UK in 2019 by Plantlife, a charity that protects plants and fungi. The scheme has now spread to the US and Canada. The idea is that letting lawns grow wild lets spring plants seed, creating healthier lawns. This gives wild plants a boost so they provide food for bees, butterflies and other insects. Back in May, Plantlife reported that 46% of gardeners said they wouldn’t mow their lawns more than once that month.…
