Charity aims to get kids moving
Children’s charity the Youth Sport Trust is asking the UK Government to help children to be more physically active. The charity is being supported by former Olympic athlete Sir Mo Farah and other leading British sportspeople. The Youth Sport Trust campaigns to improve sports education and get more children playing. Its 2024 PE and School Sport report found that only 47% of young people in England, aged five to 16, were doing the recommended daily amount of physical activity. Farah works with the Youth Sport Trust as its National School Sport Champion, and on World Children’s Day (20 November), he visited 10 Downing Street in London to deliver a letter to the Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
