Children call for apology

Hundreds of schoolchildren in Wales have written to the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBC) after watching The Fight, a play about a black Welsh boxer called Cuthbert Taylor. Between 1911 and 1948, the BBBC, the organisation that runs boxing in the UK, had a rule that boxers could only fight for British titles if both their parents were white. Taylor, whose father was black, therefore wasn’t allowed to compete – and the children want the BBBC to apologise.…
