Pharmacists may cut service

On 14 November, the National Pharmacy Association (NPA) announced that pharmacy owners in England, Wales and Northern Ireland had voted to reduce their services unless the Government gives them more money. The NPA is an organisation that represents 6,500 community pharmacies (chemist shops) across the UK. What happened? The NPA held a vote to ask its members if they were willing to cut down their services if the Government didn’t offer them more money. The vote was open to pharmacy owners in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, because Scotland has a different funding system. More than 3,300 community pharmacies took part and 99% said they would limit their services.
