Emperor penguin An emperor penguin surprisingly appeared on a beach in Australia on 1 November. The bird was spotted by a surfer and is being looked after by a penguin expert. • LIFESPAN: 15–20 years. • HABITAT: Emperor penguins live in large colonies (groups) on ice in Antarctica. • SIZE: Up to 120 centimetres tall and they normally weigh around 40 kilograms. • DIET: Mainly Antarctic silverfish, krill and squid. • FUN FACT: Emperor penguins can go up to four months without eating.…
