Celebrate National Tree Week

The UK’s biggest celebration of trees takes place this week. National Tree Week is organised every year by The Tree Council charity, and this year’s event runs from 23 November to 1 December. Trees are vital to a healthy planet because they provide homes and food for all sorts of creatures, right down to tiny insects. Trees also take carbon dioxide (CO2) out of the air and produce oxygen. CO2 is a greenhouse gas that causes climate change; oxygen is the gas in the air that animals and people need to breathe.
