Conker queen crowned

Kelci Banschbach has been crowned Queen Conker at the World Conker Championships. She is the first American to win the competition. Banschbach hadn’t heard of conkers until she moved from Indiana, US, to the UK. She played her first ever game of conkers (which involves striking and smashing conkers) a year ago and then decided to compete at the Championship in Southwick, England, when her friend took part. She said competing was “nerve-racking” and that her parents were “a little confused when I had to explain what I was doing, but they’re so proud nonetheless”.…
