Helping gamers in hospital

Glasgow Children’s Hospital in Scotland has appointed a full-time gamer so that young patients have someone to play video games with. The role was created after studies found that playing video games helped reduce patients’ anxiety and possibly even pain. Steven Mair is the first person in the UK to take on the role. He wants to help patients feel less worried, bored and lonely. Mair said patients enjoyed playing Mario Kart, Minecraft and FC25.…
