Report urges action on bullying

The Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) has asked the Government to do more to reduce the effect that bullying has on young people’s education, school attendance and wellbeing. On 11 November, at the start of Anti-Bullying Week, the ABA published a report on bullying. What did the report say? The report was based on a survey of nearly 45,000 school pupils in England, aged between four and 18. The results found that more than one in five children had faced frequent bullying. Pupils with special educational needs or disabilities and those who receive free school meals were more likely to be bullied.
