Festive ballets go on tour

Get into the holiday spirit with these shows.

In December 1892, The Nutcracker, one of the world’s most famous ballets, was performed for the first time. Since then it has become a festive classic, and lots of families go to see performances of it during the Christmas period. This winter, a dance company called Scottish Ballet is taking its production of The Nutcracker on tour. The show is about a young girl called Clara who falls asleep on Christmas Eve and goes on a journey through her imagination. On her adventure she meets the Nutcracker Prince, the Sugar Plum Fairy, explores the colourful Land of Sweets and takes on the evil Rat King.
