Eid al-Fitr festival celebrated

Millions of Muslims around the world began celebrating Eid al-Fitr on 1 May. Eid al-Fitr is a three-day festival marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan. During Ramadan, many Muslims do not have food or drink from dawn until sunset. Ramadan is a very special time in the religion of Islam, as Muslims (followers of Islam) believe it brings them closer to Allah (god). Muslims marked Eid al-Fitr with a big meal, along with prayers. In fact, the festival is sometimes called the “Sugar Feast”, because of all the sweet treats it involves.
