Explore outer space without leaving Earth

A scale model of our solar system has opened in Londonderry (Derry), Northern Ireland as part of a UK-wide festival celebrating STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths). The Our Place in Space project officially opened on Earth Day, 22 April. It follows a six-mile trail through Derry along the banks of the River Foyle, featuring large, lit-up archways and sculptures of the Sun, planets and other objects. Along with the opening, organisers tried to break the world record for the most number of people dressed as astronauts gathered in one place. The previous record of 257 was smashed as a grand total of 716 astronauts of all ages turned up.
