Girls join choir… at last

Two nine-year-olds have become the first girls to join a famous choir since it was founded in 1348. The Choir of St George’s Chapel, in Windsor, England, often sings for the Queen but for 674 years it has only accepted boy choristers (singers). The arrival of Julia Johnson and Lucy Howe, who are both in Year 4, comes after St George’s Chapel announced in January that it would follow other choirs in allowing boys and girls to sing side-by-side.…
