Pixar reveals new film Elemental

On 16 May, animation studio Pixar announced details of its new film, Elemental, out in 2023. Inspired by the elements fire, water, earth and air, Elemental is set in a city where the elements live together. Ember is a fiery young woman, while Wade likes to go with the flow, like water does. The story is about how they learn they have more in common than they thought. Elemental’s director Peter Sohn used his childhood in New York, US, where his family moved from Korea, as inspiration. “We were among many families who ventured to a new land with hopes and dreams,” said Sohn, “All of us mixing into one big salad bowl of cultures, languages and beautiful little neighbourhoods.
