TV writers strike for better pay

In the US, thousands of film and television writers have gone on strike (refusing to work as a protest) to call for better pay. The strike is affecting lots of popular television shows and films. The writers are members of the Writers Guild of America (WGA), an organisation that looks after their rights. The WGA says streaming services like Netflix and Disney+ have changed the way shows are made, and this has made it harder for television and film writers to earn a fair amount of money. Many are being paid less than they were, even though the studios they work for are spending more money on films and television.
