Holi celebrations take place

On 14 March, the Hindu festival of Holi took place and was celebrated by millions in South Asia and countries across the world. Also known as the festival of colour, Holi marks the beginning of spring and highlights new life and love. In India, the festival is a national holiday, and people celebrate by throwing coloured powder and water at each other, singing, dancing and enjoying special food. Holi is marked on the last full Moon in the lunar month Phalguna, which is the 12th month of the Hindu calendar. This usually occurs in March but the date varies, and it is usually a two-day festival.
